Meet The Team!
Hi! My name is Arthur Mangum, Digital Designer and 2D artist. Growing up in a small town in Texas, I was always drawn to the art of visual communication and the power it holds to convey messages and evoke emotions.
Where it began…
At the young age of 11, my fascination with design and branding blossomed as I immersed myself in the world of music marketing, and collected not only CDs and vinyls but also captivating tour, product, and apparel merchandise of my favorite music artists. This tangible connection through these different products and visual experiences fueled a sense of empowerment in myself, feeling that I too could craft something beautiful one day that resonates with others, too.
Amidst a backdrop of limited friends, I found my purpose in my early years by showcasing my favorite designs on my YouTube channel and online, where a dedicated community of 70 fans eagerly embraced my passion for design and meaningful creations.
This early chapter laid the foundation for my philosophy in the transformative power of using creative ideas, branding, and graphic design to impact lives and create long-lasting experiences.
Recognizing my passion for Graphic Design, I decided to pursue it as my major and 2-Dimensional Art as my minor at Sam Houston State University, where I recently graduated in the Spring of 2023.
Making a difference
Stepping into the role as a team member and team leader isn’t just a title; it is a commitment to fostering a safe environment where diverse ideas can converge.
In my 2 year role as President of the Student Art Association at Sam Houston for example, I, alongside my SAA team, orchestrated a variety of artistic experiences and events that enriched our academic community on campus. Together, we created an environment where the love for art and design thrived and unique perspectives were shared harmoniously.
Beyond the art boards, we also fundraised for our community in Huntsville TX, showing the transformative power of art and creativity in helping others.
The Power of Collaboration
Fast forward from my academic years, I'm still weaving the magic of art and design as the Director of Layout for Glaze Zine based in the eclectic city of Austin, TX.
To me, the essence lies in in creating something tangible, something people can hold, feel, and cherish. Glaze Zine is more than just pages bound together; it's a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty that emerges when diverse minds come together.
